Short Term Hire or Lease
AB Rental Limited (ABR), a company operated by AB Equipment, is one of New Zealand's largest solely ow
ned Materials Handling companies. We rent or hire forklift and forktruck for short or long term rental (leases).
Short Term Rental
Renting additional equipment when it is needed is usually far more cost effective than keeping equipment on standby, even if the demand for extra equipment is a regular occurrence. By working with us and planning for peak requirements, it is possible to guarantee that equipment is available when it is needed - and at the minimum overall cost. The Short Term Rental fleet provides equipment from an hour, a week, a month or longer.
Long Term Hire or Lease
The ABR Long Term Rental programmes offer quality material handling equipment fully maintained, at a fixed monthly cost. The period of rental (hire) can be adjusted to suit the requirements of individual customers.
An ABR Long Term Rental Agreement ensures a dependable, worry free operation at a predictable cost for accurate, straight forward budget control.
If the requirements of the application change, long term rental plans can provide the flexibility to change or upgrade the equipment involved.

Fleet Monitoring
Recently AB Equipment introduced an in house purpose built remotely operated Fleet Monitoring system to increase further its support its clients.
The system uses GSM network technology which enables access to a machines performance 24 hours x 7 days a week via the internet.
Key operating functions are monitored by the system and sent via the GSM network back to AB Equipments dedicated server. Client specific information can be accessed by entering AB Equipments website and entering the appropriate User Name and Passwords.
The AB Equipment Fleet Monitoring system provides fundamental information ensuring correct fleet sizes are used with maximum up time for the user. Operational features of the system are:
Measurement of Machine utilisation;
- Automatic maintenance scheduling and tracking;
- Machine breakdown alerts via text and email;
- Identifies geographical position of a machine;
- Provides machine geo-fencing (restricted area of operation;
- Automatic and Manual machine shutdown function;
- Provides machine usage versus planned usage;
- Full reporting of the above functions via internet.
